Due to a water leak at the Leisure centre, judo is cancelled for tonight. Apologies to everyone.
Newent Judo Club had a stand and mat area at the Highnam Funday where some of the club members did a demonstration for the crowds of warming up techniques, throws and ground work.
The coaches also did a 30 minute class for people to try judo and a learn how to throw the coach in 5 minutes activity.
Taking part in these activities gave entry into a draw where a prize of 6 weeks free lessons was up for grabs, this was won by James.
During the course of the afternoon some members of the judo club put together a tug of war team and subsequently won the event, well done to our tug of war heroes.
Newent had 3 players attend the Bradley Stoke Training day/ competition practice event. Oliver came away with Silver, while Evie and Matthew got Bronze medals.
